Ice, acrylic, fabric
Variable dimensions
This work uses colored ice blocks as temporary structural units. These ephemeral colored columns evoke both abstract models of urban architecture and prototypes of structures that are still unstable. As the ice melts, the form, initially endowed with volume and order, begins to collapse; the pigments diffuse and mix with the water, ultimately leaving irreversible traces and residues on the fabric.
The work makes the process of “ruination” visible. As these units lose their support through melting, a miniature landscape of ruins in the making gradually emerges under the combined forces of time and entropy. Order gives way to chaos, the structure tends to disintegrate, and energy shifts from a concentrated state to a diffuse one.
